Our Daily Schedule

When people first hear about the “Pink Sisters,” they are often puzzled or intrigued. The idea of women spending their entire lives within the quiet enclosure of a cloister can seem mysterious, even unimaginable in today’s fast‑paced world. A question we hear again and again is: Sister, what do you DO all day?” Many are surprised to learn that our days are full, structured, and deeply meaningful. Far from being empty or monotonous, our life is rich with purpose, rhythm, and joy.

At the heart of everything we do is Eucharistic Adoration, the source from which our entire day flows. Seven times daily we gather together as a community for the Church’s liturgical prayer, praising God in union with the whole Body of Christ. These communal moments anchor us, giving shape and strength to all the hours in between.

When we are not in public or private prayer, we devote ourselves to various forms of work necessary for the well‑being of the community. Some Sisters prepare meals in the kitchen; others clean, sew, or tend correspondence; still others labor joyfully in the garden, caring for the flowers and land that surround our home. Each task, whether seemingly simple or more demanding, becomes a channel through which we express love of God and neighbor.

Because our life is intense, spiritually, communally, and physically, we also make space for wholesome recreation. Shared moments of conversation, play, laughter, or creative hobbies help us relax and strengthen the bonds of sisterhood. These times remind us that joy is an essential part of religious life.

Our spirituality teaches us not to divide our lives into rigid compartments such as “prayer,” “work,” or “recreation,” but to allow all these dimensions to form a single, harmonious offering. Every action, no matter how ordinary, becomes part of a continuous hymn of praise to the Triune God. When lived with love and awareness, peeling potatoes, weeding, answering letters, singing the Divine Office, and kneeling in silent adoration all become threads woven into one seamless act of worship.

Living together in harmony and fulfilling our responsibilities well would be impossible without a regular schedulea rhythm that sets aside time for prayer, work, silence, recreation, rest, and community gatherings. Far from being restrictive, this schedule frees us: it creates order, reduces stress, and makes room for peace. It allows each Sister to give her best without fear of overburdening others, because everyone’s needs and responsibilities are considered.

Faithfulness to this schedule requires self‑denial and generosity. It teaches us to think of one another, to respect the silence others need for prayer, the time required for work, and the rest needed to sustain our health. This daily fidelity, quiet, steady, and often hidden, becomes a lived expression of our love for God and for our Sisters. In this way, our seemingly ordinary routines become a beautiful school of charity, shaping us into one community united in purpose, devotion, and joyful surrender to God’s will.

Each Sister spends thirty minutes each day in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, along with one full hour dedicated to personal prayer and spiritual reading. In addition, every Sister undertakes one hour of nocturnal adoration on alternating nights.
